POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Below you will find job descriptions of the student positions for which we hire for at the Union*.

Event Services Assistant
The Event Services Assistant is a key office staff member that provides event planning assistance and customer service to clients planning events within the Student Union.
Potential candidates should possess the following qualities:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Willingness to help with other duties as needed
- Detail oriented and ability to prioritize duties
- Ability to work in a high-traffic environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Answering multi-line phone system and greeting walk-in clients
- General clerical duties including typing, filing, copying, and faxing
- Perform errands
- Assess client needs and direct them to appropriate contact
- Pre and Post-event customer service
- Reserve space and assist event planners with reservations
- Maintain customer contacts in the database
Event Services Associate
The Event Services Associate is a key support staff member who provides the setup and maintenance of furnishings and A/V equipment for all events that take place in the Student Union. The crew members work directly with our clients maintaining a focus on customer service.
Job responsibilities:
- Implement prescribed setups for daily events held in the Student Union
- Operate basic audiovisual equipment for events
- Report any problems with furnishings and/or A/V equipment to the Building Manager on duty
- Assure cleanliness of facility throughout duration of event
- Act as a liaison between the Event Services office and the client for last minute setup and modifications
- Clean and organized the A/V rooms, skirt closets, and furniture closets on a daily basis
- Attend periodic training sessions and meetings as assigned by the Assistant Director or Senior Building Manager
- Assist other associates with daily setups of furnishings and A/V equipment
- Perform other duties as needed
